Wear a messy bun: feel like a Duchess!

I have been growing my hair out. Not so I could do some fancy schmancy things with it; I’m mostly all about the messy bun.

I actually think a messy bun can be worn in ANY situation.

I’m talking work day, date night, weekend errands, stay home in your PJ’s day and even for a wedding.

The best part is that it looks better when you don’t even wash your hair!

Wuuuuut? Yes, it’s true. It’s not called dirty hair either. It’s called “second day hair” and it’s all about texture!

There are so many variations of the messy bun and every single one is magnificent.

That’s all I want is to have hair long enough to wear a messy bun.

And if that doesn’t work I think Plan B will be a short pixie and wigs. I’m not even kidding.

I’ve been checking out wigs and found they make some really super cute ones! I might even still buy some wigs because I’ve been wanting to play with different colored hair for a while now without the commitment or damage to my real hair.

Even the Royal Duchess herself, Meghan Markle, who could wear her her any way she wants and likely has a hair stylist do her hair every day, chooses the ever-classic messy bun.

I really do hope it’s as easy as it looks. (I’ve had short hair for a really long time so haven’t had the pleasure of trying this look).

Do you think this look will EVER go out of style?

I think it is an easy, sexy way to have a bed-head type look.

Let me know what you think!

All the inspiration images are from a google search for “messy bun.” Here is a tutorial for fine hair and here’s one for lots of thicker hair and one that shows Six different ways to wear a messy bun! I’ve watched and savaged them. They are good ones!

I have a long way to go but might be able to do a teeny, baby one soon and I’d be happy with that!

I really do think these short, fine-haired buns are super cute. I have fine hair so am expecting more of a look like this (at least until it gets quite a bit longer) than the ones above but I’m totally fine with it!

Are you inspired to wear a messy bun? I think any age could pull this off from 1 to 101! I don’t know how it could go wrong!

Or have you been rocking this look for a long time now (I know a lot of you have)?

Very “Brigitte Bardot,” no? I almost thought it was her for a second with the lift at the crown and that dark eyeliner. She really made this a this classic look.

And what about these cute double buns? Side by side or one on top of the other. I can’t decide which is cuter!

Let me know in the comments what you think of this look.

We may not have the life of a Duchess but we sure as heck can have the same hairstyle!

One last tutorial that swears you’ll be able to achieve a Meghan Merkle messy bun!

I think the only thing better than a messy bun would, of course, be a cinnamon bun!

May you be happy and well!

PS If any of these images are yours and you’d like credit or for me to remove them I will happily do so. Please just give me a comment!

  1. Hey! Quick question that’s completely off topic.

Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website
looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem.
If you have any recommendations, please share.
    Thank you!
