Excellent Basic Vinaigrette Recipe with Variations

Guys, I’m sharing the recipe I found that I use for our vinaigrette. Fresh is so much better and you can season it to your liking. I’m not going to reinvent the wheel here. The link below has 8 variations of the the basic vinaigrette recipe. So much healthier than store bought dressings. If made with high quality olive oil you’re getting lots of good fats.

Ideas besides a basic salad to use vinaigrette with:

Three bean salad

Sliced tomatoes and onions

Sliced cucumbers

Grilled corn and zucchini

Cooked potatoes

Whole wheat pasta (add any veggies you like such as tomatoes, onion, cucumber and you have yourself a nice pasta salad you can serve cold)

We’ve also had a vinaigrette over warm pasta and it’s delicious as well.

Grilled vegetables (potatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, onion, grape tomatoes, red and yellow peppers. Just brush with oil, salt and pepper and grill)

Any protein. I’m vegetarian so would use tempeh or Quorn brand proteins from frozen section of grocery store but would be good with fish or chicken.

Grains like quinoa

The possibilities are endless!

Don’t forget to wash your veggies! Did you know you can use hydrogen peroxide to wash them to remove harmful pesticides? Got that tip from a Nutrition Doctor. You can keep it in a spray bottle. Spray, rub for 10 seconds and rinse with cold water.
